Install Desktop

Download the current signed macOS build and point it at a Server.

Desktop is the full client: Rooms, apps, the integrated browser, terminal, and local connections all live here.

Set it up

  1. Open the downloads page.
  2. Choose the macOS build. The stable link always resolves to the current signed DMG.
  3. Open the DMG, drag OpenCircle into Applications, then launch it.
  4. In the connect screen, enter the exact Server URL your administrator gave you and choose Connect. Public Servers use HTTPS; a Server on this same Mac uses the loopback address the local deploy prints.
  5. Sign in, or claim an invitation if this is your first time on that Server.

Desktop does not create a Server for you. If you are the operator, start from Docker Compose or Railway instead.

If the connection or sign-in fails

Confirm the full address, including scheme and port, with your administrator before retrying. Never accept a certificate warning or claim a Server you don't recognize just to get past a failure — a local address only resolves on the machine that owns it, and LAN access has its own limits.

If the connection succeeds but sign-in doesn't, follow account recovery.
